SCHOOL NOT BEING IN SESSION
What
is it?
High
school students write and submit one-act scripts to a juried
competition.
Six finalists will be chosen to work with a
panel of actors to present a reading
of their play script. The six plays will be
read before a public audience and
panel of VIP judges who will award first,
second, and third place winners.
What
are the awards?
All six
finalists will receive certificates of participation.
The first, second and third place finishers will
receive cash awards of $500,
$250, and $100. The other three finalists will
each receive a cash award of
$50.
How
can students learn to write scripts?
At the
beginning of the competition, Robidoux Resident Theatre will
conduct
a “Playwriting Workshop” for all students
interested in considering entering
the competition. The “Workshop” will be
conducted on a Saturday by day by day by
theatre professionals.
